There are a lot of perks when you are a female and starting a business. The most important thing is the startup which is what generally keeps people from ever starting a business. The idea of business loans, if you can get one is off putting because of the repayment. Business payday loans are scary and come at high interest rates. But there is a way to get free money that you never have to pay back. This is called a grant and it is the same sort of thing you apply to a school for education. There is free money in the country for female entrepreneurs of all kinds.
Why would there be free money for anyone?
In other words, what’s the catch? This is a good question and one worth answering as most people don’t understand what a grant is. What happens is the government has a certain amount of money to assist the free enterprise system and those that are considered underprivileged or a minority. Though women outnumber men in a lot of places, they are still grouped in the minority category. This is a good thing in this case because the government wants to help you; so let them.
How do you go about getting one?
This is also a good question and one of great importance. This is not the easiest thing to do but it is done a lot. What they want to know
In general, be prepared to answer a lot of question and state a plea as to what you need the grant for and be sure it is not all about yourself. They don’t want to know that you are trying to get rich and buy a new Rolls Royce. They want to know who you are going to help. They want to know what good you and your business is going to do for your community and how many people you are going to put to work. They will also need a business-plan in writing with a very clear focus and though they don’t want the money repaid they want to see your financial forecast. Why? This is because they really want to know what kinds of taxes you’ll be paying so in effect, they will get it back one way or another. A grant writer may run about a grand but it is well worth it as it will save you the trouble of doing it all over again.
